Spicy Texan

I discovered this drink at a BBQ place in Austin. Unfortunately I don't recall the name. Oops. The drink is quite refreshing. Kind of a summer drink, but I like it all the time regardless.

1 oz Stuff
1/2 oz St Germain (maybe 1/3 oz. adjust to taste)
1 oz Lime Juice
1 oz Jalapeno-Basil Simple Syrup

Shake over ice and strain into a rocks glass with a large jalapeno imdebbed ice cube.

To make the Jalapeno-Basil Simple Syrup, just start with making simple syrup (I use 2 cups sugar and 2 cups water) over the stove in a pot. Get it to a light simmer. Add in Jalapeno slices from 2 jalapenos (leave in the seeds for a slightly spicier taste). Simmer for 10 minutes. Now add a bunch of basil leaves. Montior it as it simmers for another 10 minutes. You make want to add more basil as the leaves shrivel. Strain through cheese cloth into a large squeeze bottle.
