The Martini is supposed to be simple. Although there is a place for other variations on the Martini (such as the Cowboy Martini, Mexican Martini and the French Martini), I find it amazing how many versions there are for a Classic Martini. Stop messing with ratios, coating the glass, dumping vermouth, etc. There should only be one option for a Martini, Gin or Vodka. Here is the correct way to make a Martini. Oh, and don't get me started on the shaken vs. stirred thing.
- 2 oz Vodka or Gin
- 1 oz Dry Vermouth
Stir over ice then strain into small martini glass. Garnish with 1-3 olives.
