A new year means I should make sure I am still on track. Here are the three best examples I could find of cars from my short list... all below $10,000.

1966 Ford Mustang - $7,500

Description: Nice Mustang. Has a great sounding 6cyl engine with a C4 transmission. Complete black interior and exterior, many updated parts, wire wheels. Runs and drives well.

Comments: This is the perfect starter Mustang. It is priced nice, it is located in Texas so I could easily take a look at it, and the 6 cylinder with an automatic would make an easy car to drive while my son and I plan on slowly turning this into a more performance oriented Mustang. If it is rust free I would buy it. I just wish I had the cash in hand now.

1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo - $9,950

Description: Gorgeous correct medium blue metallic finish. Like new white vinyl top. Strong and tight 350 V8,four barrel, automatic, power steering, power brakes, A/C car, really nice blue bucket seats and center console, floor shift.107K actual miles. Nice rally wheels. Runs and drives 100%.

Comments: I really like the blue interior on GM cars from the late 60s to early 70s... like on the 67 Camaro RS Convertible I used to own.

1967 Chevrolet Corvair - $7,999

Description: All original, numbers-matching w/only 75,000 actual miles. Beautiful, solid, clean and original body with a recent repaint. Nice chrome, trim and weather stripping. The glass appears new but is all original. Very nice original blue bucket seat interior including the carpet, door panels and headliner. The instrument cluster and dash are perfect and everything works as it should. The engine is all original and is a numbers matching 110 h.p. 6 cylinder w/twin carbs. It runs smooth and strong. The trans is a 2 speed automatic that shifts perfect. This is a cool little car!! It looks new and it runs and drives surprisingly smooth. She truly is a blast to drive.

Comments: That blue interior shows well even on the Corvair.
