A New Dealer Inspires Me
December 1, 2007
By Scott Lewis
I came across a new dealer in the past month. I don't think the dealer is new, just new to me. I stumbled across Harwell Motor Company and was impressed with the quality of the inventory and pictures. I couldn't help myself and put a few cars from their site here this. I also through in a couple of cars I have come across recently that just seemed to fit.
1962 Chevrolet Nova 300 - $10,900
Description: 65k miles. This car is an extremely solid Texas car with
a very straight body. It has had one repaint and still shows well.
Interior looks great and has a nice dash as can be seen in the pics. Car
runs and drives great and is ready to go. Here is a chance to own a very
solid, original, low miles Nova at a great price.
NADA: $2,875 - $4,375

Comments: I really love old, clean and plain cars. How much plainer can
you get than this. I could see adding a set of Torque Thrust wheels, a
Vintage Air air conditioning system and a Custom Autosound stereo to
this car and driving it until the engine falls out. Then I would swap in
a V-8, but I should have years to plan that part.
I had a really touch time with this car and the Chevelle below. In the end I decided to put a car first that fit my theoretical $15K budget. If I was in the market with cash in hand I should be able to add those three items and stay in budget.
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle - $18,900
Description: This car has a great running 350, automatic
transmission, console with bucket seats, 12 bolt rear, power brakes,
power steering, serpentine belt system, nice black interior, cowl
induction and more. The body is solid and has nice paint. The wheels are
new 17 inch TT with new tires. The car runs and drives great. Here is a
chance to own a great Chevelle for a low price.
NADA: $8,700 - $13,600

Comments: Wow, this car looks awesome. I think about it and last month's
Charger that was selling for a only $2,000 less. O.K. This car needs air
conditioning, but it is a super clean car. It is not an original SS, nor
are they making that claim. That's refreshing. It just has the right
look. I would love a car like this to drive on a regular basis.
1964 Ford Falcon Futura - $13,900
Description: This car is a factory 260 V8, nicely restored black
interior, very nice trim, new Torque Thrust wheels, good BFG tires,
automatic trans, sprint wood grain steering wheel, power steering and
more. The body is rock solid and in very good shape. Here is a chance to
own a great muscle car for a great price.
NADA: $7,950 - $14,000

Comments: Back to the budget. This is a very nice looking Falcon.
Remember... this is the car the Mustang was built from . That means a
lot of Mustang parts will bolt right on. This is one of those time when
you look at a nice Falcon because even a chappy Mustang is getting
expensive.
1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne - $15,900
Description: Real big block Chevrolet Cheyenne. This truck is loaded
with 402 big block, AC, tilt, white houndstooth interior, factory tach,
power steering, power disc brakes, side tool box, and more. This truck
is show quality and needs nothing. You can still see the original smog
equipment and original firewall markings on the firewall. It runs and
drives great. The body is solid and straight with no rust issues.
NADA: $10,710 - $25,095

Comments: If you can't get a Muscle Car maybe a Muscle Truck will do.
I would have passed buy this truck if not for the big block engine and
air condition, but mostly for the big block engine. I like it. Not love
it, but like it.
1965 Ford Mustang - $12,850
Description: 1965 Ford "A" Code Mustang Coupe, red with black vinyl top on black buckets, console, C-4 automatic, "A" code 289 C.I., factory A/C, front discs, ps, and talk about documentation! We have the original window sticker, owners manual, and the warranty ident-a-plate, this is a completely documented Pony car that runs and drives like a Mustang should, clean and unmolested, try to find another one with this kind of history, no guessing games here, the REAL DEAL! Get it before it races out of our barn.
NADA: $21,560 - $36,120

Comments: I came across this Mustang a short time ago and thought
those wheels were really different. Overall I really like the look here.
I would put on Torq Thrust wheels instead. This car reminds me how good
some cars look with vinyl roofs. With A/C and at this price this car is
ready to be a daily driver.
1972 Pontiac Firebird Esprit - $12,995
Description: Upgraded to formula hood and rear spoiler. Original with 71 K Miles, 350-2 barrel V-8, turbo 350 transmission. Power steering and brakes, ICE COLD AIR and AM/FM/CD stereo. Comes with the original radio too. Rust free and in great condition! Repainted the original Brasilia Gold with original saddle interior, all in great shape. Under carriage- super clean! PHS documented, some original paperwork from 1972 when bought in GA. Runs and drives like NEW!
NADA: $13,563 - $24,500

Comments: Another nice looking Pony car with air conditioning and well within my budget. The vinyl roof does not look as good here as it does on the Mustang. Probably due to the color. Regardless this looks like it could make a great driver.
